Berlin B&B

Berlin’s hip neighbourhood of Schöneberg is the perfect location for a chilled city break. Set on the ground floor of a grand old house on a tree lined boulevard, this beautiful home with its high ceilings and large windows is elegance personified. The guest room is at the rear of the house with access to the large private garden. Bathed in natural light with crisp white walls and wooden floors emphasising the bright airy feel. This family run b&b offers a relaxed and romantic stay including a breakfast prepared from fresh organic ingredients bought locally. The host, Gemma Hannah, also runs a business from her home studio making an exquisite range of 100% all natural bath and body products. Guests can also enrol in one of her workshops to learn the art of holistic skincare and mix their own personalised blends.

Schöneberg was once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. Today, it is a quiet residential area although it retains a thriving nightlife and is also a major hub of the city’s gay scene. Guests can easily walk from the house to the open air plazas which give way to eclectic outdoor markets, rolling park spaces and bars and clubs of Tempelhof-Schöneberg. There are ample opportunities to part with some Euros whether in the high-end department stores such as KaDeWe or the various smaller independent shops. “Ryoko” on Friedelstraße, is well worth a walk to. The house has the added benefit of being only 10mins from Tempelhof Station.

Sage House | Herne Hill

“20th Century Modern” holiday home

3 Bedroom   1 Bathroom   Sleeps 5

Sage House | Herne Hill

This iconic 60’s house in the south London village of Herne Hill, offers self catering accommodation for up to five people.  Set in the peaceful Delawyk Crescent, off Half Moon Lane. The property features three bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor. The open plan ground floor encompasses a living area leading into the dining space and a modern kitchen. Bifold glass doors open onto a small private garden. Decor is simple and unpretentious with a vintage vibe. This is a perfect family holiday home and would also suit local residents looking to decant temporarily during home renovations. It is an ideal place to house extra people for family events, and many wedding guests have stayed here for local ceremonies.

Herne Hill is perfectly situated to enjoy easy access to both central London and the leafy green suburb of neighbouring Dulwich Village. Excellent public transport connections means that Victoria, Blackfriars and Kings Cross & St Pancras International are minutes away from Herne Hill station. The many bus routes offer another quick and easy way to get around, including quick access to Brixton Underground Station as well as Kings College Hospital.

With impressive period houses, plus a number of good schools nearby, including the famous Dulwich College, the residents are mainly families and young professionals. There is a good selection of independent shops, art galleries, bars and restaurants. Herne Hill’s regular Sunday Market was named ‘best place to shop’ in TimeOut’s Love London awards. This is one of Londons greenest boroughs, ‘Brockwell’, ‘Belair’ and ‘Dulwich’ parks are all within walking distance, ‘Brockwell Park’ being best known for its festivals and large lido, one of the few remaining outdoor swimming pools in London.
